Happy Birthday to Saralyn! Two months old today!
Naturally, we marked the occasion with three pokes with a sharp needle.
It was “well baby” checkup day, which came with three needle vaccinations and another oral vaccine. As far as Saralyn was concerned, that was the bad news. The good news is that she is growing like champ: [...]

I asked for a Kitchen Aid stand mixer.
I waited and hoped for several gift giving holidays.
Now, I have it. And what am I supposed to do with it again? I feel like such a moron. I know I want it, but an afraid to take it out of the box. It’s [...]

My family has gone. Another Christmas season is OVER. We put my sister on a plane-bound train today, and she was the last to go. I really liked seeing everyone again. I had a wonderful Christmas. Wish it could last forever.
However…
I came home after all the running around today and crashed into a nap [...]

So… What did you get for Christmas?
I got some really great stuff, including something I have been wanting for years: a Kitchen Aid Pro Mixer! Oh, I will soon be rewatching all the Alton’s to see what things I can make with the new mixer that I couldn’t make before. There were a number of [...]

Saralyn will be baptized tomorrow. It’s really going to be a big to do. I’ve been planning this with Tony for weeks, nay months. We selected the date so more people would be free to come, and come they are.
The reception following the service is all ready: platters of foods and cake have been delivered [...]

I have a new cell phone.
It’s my early Christmas present from my dad. Along with the new phone I have a new number. Evidently, being a person who is only marginally in the 21st Century, and having used the same “disposable” phone over the last several years, I’m unworthy to take my phone number with [...]

Last night, in a fit of holiday cheer, I bundled up the family and braved the cold (and Highway 78) to go out to Stone Mountain to see the lights. It took ages to get here, as we set out at 6:30 – the hight of rush hour. When we FINALLY got into the park, [...]
Really, Santa still sucks.

We went to the Grandparents’ House today. Eleanor was there to bake cookies with Pop-pop, but we got sidetracked by decorating the revolving Christmas tree. Elly and her Gramps had a high time hanging ornaments. That was, until I offered Eleanor a Santa Clause.
I showed it to her and asked, “What’s this?”
She looks and says, [...]

Here’s what not to do with a toddler at Christmas time: wake her up early from a nap, upset her whole routine, wrestle her into fancy clothes, ignore her screams of protest and spring a life size, human Santa Clause and wife on her while she’s disoriented. Use extra flash for the pictures.
In short, Eleanor [...]

Santa Clause is coming here this afternoon, and then we are hosting our Christmas Party this evening. I have to say that I am pretty happy that we got almost everything done yesterday, cause we are all worthless today.
Tony is headachey today. Saralyn is screamy and wide awake. Eleanor is little Miss [...]
