We went to the Grandparents’ House today. Eleanor was there to bake cookies with Pop-pop, but we got sidetracked by decorating the revolving Christmas tree. Elly and her Gramps had a high time hanging ornaments. That was, until I offered Eleanor a Santa Clause.
I showed it to her and asked, “What’s this?”
She looks and says, “Santa Clause. AAAaahhhhhhh!!!!!” Then she threw it. (I know she’s got some trauma here, but MAN ALIVE that was funny.)
So…
No Santa Clause this year, OK?
It was hard to say who had more fun today; Eleanor or Grandpa. Honestly, they were like the giggle twins. There was much decorating, eating of cookie dough, and general merry making. I worried Elly would be sick after stuffing 5 pounds of gingerbread in her maw, but she seems just fine. I’m up to my keester in cookies!
You are so funny. I love a mom who understands her kids and still gets the humor of parenting. Don’t take this wrong, but I’m so proud of you.
