So… What did you get for Christmas?
I got some really great stuff, including something I have been wanting for years: a Kitchen Aid Pro Mixer! Oh, I will soon be rewatching all the Alton’s to see what things I can make with the new mixer that I couldn’t make before. There were a number of other fine gifts, and I am happy to have received them, but I am totally happy with some of the other gifts we GAVE.
I made each of my parents, a Grambi, and my aunt cry. (OK, my aunt didn’t actually cry. Technically she was “touched”, but 4 gifts and 3.5 waterfalls… Not a bad score…. Not that I’m keeping score. But… Whatever.) Let’s just say that they liked their gifts, and Tony and I enjoyed making them. We didn’t have many gifts to give this year, so we tried to make them meaningful. Lots of pictures, recordings and made things with our own two mitts.
Eleanor had a very Elmo Christmas: two animatronics figures, a book, a puppet, a puzzle, slippers, pajamas and games. WOW! That little red monster’s face sure does get around! Her schedule really got out of whack when we stayed at the Grandparents till 10 PM last night. She was super cranky today. That and she has Santa Trauma: she threw her packages wrapped in Santa paper, and freaked out when Christy (Mrs. Clause) came by today. I hope she’s not this way next year…
I’m, in fact, so tired that I make almost no sense in my own head. SO much has happened in the last two days that I am confused about what happened when and with whom. Now, you tell me what you did while I recover my wits.
I’m back in the land of the blogging, now that MIL has gone home!
What did you make and give folks? I wanna see!
As for my favorite gift, I think it’s the new comforter that Tony gave me for the bed. He asked me what I wanted, and I said, “A comforter I saw at Target”. Then he said, “that’s no kind of a Christmas gift.” to which I replied, “It is if its something I want but wouldn’t allow myself to buy.”
So he got it for me, and it keeps me warm and cozy at night.
I enjoyed giving socks this year. I got to pick out a different pair for each person and I tried to fit them to the personality and needs of the people. It was fun. socks don’t cost much so I could be really creative about who got what without worrying about breaking the bank.
woo hoo on the mixer.
BTW, did you hear? Alton re-signed for another three years of Good Eats !!!!!
