My family has gone. Another Christmas season is OVER. We put my sister on a plane-bound train today, and she was the last to go. I really liked seeing everyone again. I had a wonderful Christmas. Wish it could last forever.
However…
I came home after all the running around today and crashed into a nap to end all naps.
I’m pretty glad that Tony was on the game today ’cause I just about abandonded the kids. I’m not sure I could have lifted my head if the house was on fire. I hit the pillow hard after my dentist appointment and hardly came up for air for two hours. It was a drool-filled glory of a nap.
What? You want to know about the dentist? Oh, just the same old thing: a sudden pain in the mouth, a tell-tale crunchiness in whatever I’m eating followed by a $600 crown. My teeth suck. They are far to young to be getting this… broken. The punchline is that I have to wait another two to three weeks for the crown, or more precisely, the insurance company’s approval for the crown. Yes. The $600 is what the insurance company doesn’t pay. The crooks. I do the math over and over again and come up with an equilibrium between the amount we pay in premiums and deductibles vs. declining dental insurance and just paying for everything out of pocket. There is just no difference. But, I digress. The short and long of it is I will have to suffer through until I get the crown, with food being forced down the side of my broken tooth and into my gums. Youch!
Oh, I think I’ve hit cranky. As I’m officially out of holiday cheer, I think I can safely say things are getting back to normal.
