This morning, I threw away a favorite, old, tee shirt. It SMELLED. I loved this shirt, and have had it for years. It was one of my first SCA shirts and said, in Latin, “Our Dream is not of This Time.” It was just the right weight and size, and had faded to just the [...]

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Posted in Eleanor, Saralyn, tagged Christmas Pageant on December 13, 2007 | Leave a Comment »
Last night the church had its Christmas Pageant. The story, “Singing from the Stable” (written by our church secretary) was lovely. There were parts for everyone, including Eleanor and Saralyn, who were a sheep and baby Jesus.
Several toddlers also came along, and they, collectively, stole the whole show.
We have the whole thing on [...]
How Elly’s mind works

Here’s something neat that happened when we went to the park: Elly climbed the leaf ladder. All. By. Herself.
Now, the leaf ladder is a 5-and-a-half foot single-pole ladder with 6 staggered “leaves” coming off the pole like it’s a trunk. This is quite a feat for a toddler. Straight up, I am proud of her.
What [...]

Tony tells me he has a potluck on Thursday at work, and he wants to bring a HOT dish. (Um, Honey, didn’t you read my last post? I’m busy! Full WEEK. Whatever…)
“A hot dish? Like what?” I say.
“Chicken and Dumplings,” says he.
OK. There’s nothing like making a pot of Grandma Musser’s Slickums. It’s not [...]

I’m planning how I am going to get through a very busy week. I have so many errands to run and so many events to plan or attend.
Tomorrow, I have to go to the library, post office, home improvement store, and grocery.
Tuesday – Playgroup and then I will be a “date” to an office [...]

Here’s a funny thing that happened on the way home from the video store: I didn’t realize at the check out counter, but all the movies I picked out are third sequels.
Ocean’s 13, Live Free or Die Hard, Pirates of the Caribbean; At World’s End and Shreck the Third. Weird huh? I didn’t [...]
The dandruff on my shoulder is not my own.

My baby has a bad BAD case of baby acne.
It’s been so dry here this season. Way dryer than when Eleanor was battling her baby acne. Over the last few days I was worried that Saralyn was either going to flake to pieces or scar for life. My dad said that she has inherited the [...]

I’ve gotten busy with tinsel and lights, and I thought you might like to take a peek into my Christmas decor.
Here is my Christmas tree. I’m a frugal person by nature, and I never want to spend a lot on seasonal decorating. That’s why I have an artificial tree. I can’t justify the [...]

Holy Star Spangled Mongolian Goat Rodeos!!!
The Cheerieos!
Everywhere I step. Every time I turn around. Everywhere I look. The little buggers are EVERWHERE! How does she do it!?!?! I swear, No. More. Cereal.
I love my little girl, but how does she get schmootz on every surface of this house? She [...]
Princess Phuttie-Phuttie

Saralyn is now a month old. (Give or take a few days.) She is turning out to be remarkable.
First off, she has a very sweet disposition. Much to dear Bambi’s chagrin, Saralyn is easy going. Not feisty at all, and is a real mama’s girl. Her mother really likes that, as Mama [...]
