Eleanor PEED IN THE POTTY!!!! Whoop-PEE!!!
I thought this day would never come!!! Who knew it would take 2 years, 8 months and 11 days before she would produce in the pot?
There were crying babies and much confusion and I wasn’t even in the room with her! (I heard this little voice shout from the bathroom, “It’s WORKING!?!?!?” I rushed in to find she had dropped this week’s Entertainment Weekly in surprise!). And she was right!
Color me so so so surprised, but, Elly did it! And we did a dance and had a potty party. We did a conga line type song that goes “Pee-pee in the Pot – TEE! Ah, Pee-pee in the Pot – TEE!” Scads of fun…
This momentous occasion falls on the heals of Wednesday’s “I wanna wear panties” debacle. Let’s just say it ended with Eleanor having to sit on plastic as we rushed home from the Chick-fil-a*. I knew she would have an accident in the panties, but I hoped it would help her get the picture that IF she wears panties, she can’t just let fly. It’s really interesting to be with her now, because if she thinks it, she says it. “Uh-oh! Da pee-pee run down ma leg!” Yes, in deed. That’s why you are wearing the Crocks, not socks and sneakers… The… um… other stuff in her panties… um… let’s just not go there….
Yea!!! My big girl is growing up! YEA!!! Now what??? Suggestions?
* Yes. Chick-fil-a is part of the new diet… They have the BEST side salads of all the junky fast food restaurants. And playgrounds. Done deal.
Yay!!!! Yay, Eleanor!!! Auntie Trish is so proud!
It’s the “wee” moments in life that mean the most! Aunt Diane never doubted Eleanor’s efforts for a moment!
Congrats and hugs and kisses to my nieces…both generations!
Pee-free my child, pee-free! OR at least pee freely in the pot! Looks like all those elmo DVD’s paid off. Good job, keep up the efforts.
Auntie Lynn
you are right. She is going to sue you later…to pay for the therapy! Just kidding. Congrats. And good strategy about letting her wear the big girl pants so she would understand the consequences in a more…um…visceral way.

I just had to mention that a friend of mine, in reference to the potty blog being grounds for litigation, said, “There will be so much more, this issue will just be a drop in the bucket.”
HAhahaha!
