Trish and I went on a little trip yesterday. We have been planning this for months. We went to the DAR Luncheon meeting at Dunaway Gardens near Newnan, GA. The DAR was, well, what I expected, and the luncheon was fine and eatable, but the GARDENS – Oh HOLY WONDERLAND OF ROCK AND WATER!!! I want to move into this garden. I want to commune with the rockpools and the rose bushes. I want to name the ferns. It was SPECTACULAR.
If want to go out into the middle of nowhere and see something great – go to Dunaway Gardens.
We went by Carter’s Acres on the way home and Trish showed me around the farm. She HAS been busy. There are rows of beans and peppers and cabbage and peppers and eggplant and peppers and some peppers. I delivered 4 cases of canning jars to her from Bambi. So, the girl will be canning again as soon as her peppers produce, or figs, or whatever. Mother nature captured by Trish: coming soon.
She also gave me a whole flat of plants to put into my container garden. I’m going out onto my newly fenced deck and will be planting this afternoon. I will take pictures SOON.
I know Trish won’t blog today, because it’s her grandparents’ 65th wedding anniversary, and there is a big party at Carter’s Acres. Wow! That’s a long time to be married! Good on them!
