I’ve been off my blog game for a little while, cause there’s just been too much going on to blog about.
Then I started feeling behind.
So, rather than catching up, I am just going to lump it. Sorry. I have nothing to say about my Memorial Day weekend. I LOVED visiting with my sister and brothers-in-law. It was great. Bygones.
I’ve worked hard all day today being a mother and playgroup leader and trying to beat back the dirt and clutter in my home. After several hours of this, the laundry is still winning, the babies are still “leaking” and the filth is making plans behind my back. Evil plans. What-are-we-going-to-do-tonight,-Brain kind of plans. Pinky, this would be the worst time possible for me to have some “me time.”
So, let me tell you about my garden!
I’m super duper-happy about it. I know now why eTrish tells the blog world to go pound sand and slips off to Carter’s Acres. The plants, they don’t talk back, even when you trim their fingernails branches. If the seeds are old and tired, plant them anyway. Some will sprout despite your neglect, or ineptitude, or general lack of patience or restraint. I have a beans a-flowering. I have a tiny okra on my sad, stunted lone okra plant. I have squashes and melons about to bloom. I’ve harvested two giant bowls full of salad greens. I’ve eaten ONE green pepper already and the beat goes on! Corn is getting taller. Yes, I have corn in my container garden. What of it? All the journals say you can’t grow corn on the deck; read it and weep! But, I’d rather weed it and reap. IF I don’t get a single ear, I won’t care. I will dry out those mini stalks and make something Fall Festive out of it.
Whether I get bushels of tomatoes or nary a molehill of beans, I don’t care. I love puttering out there. It’s restive, and that’s all a busy mommy wants. Catch up with you later… Until then, here is a gallery of my garden. (Hold your mouse over the picture to get a title, or click to read the captions. And, yes, those are upside down tomatoes.)

yum. and good for you. congrats on the garden.
