Saralyn is 8-months old today. Eight months, how they go by in a blink.
So much has changed, but so much is still the same:
She has some hair now, but still no teeth.
She scoots around on the floor, but still doesn’t crawl.
She’s HUGE, but is still so small.
I know you aren’t supposed to compare your children, but I must. It’s the only way I can describe my baby girl. Eleanor, as an eater, was a born baracuda (and still is), where Saralyn is a sipper and snacker. Eleanor cried with rage as a baby, but Saralyn’s wail is mostly deep sorrow. Elly learned the difference very quickly between food and not food, and never put not food in her mouth (any food, however, that met her maw got eaten in short order). Saralyn gums everything, eatable or not, but is picky about what baby foods she will swallow.
Speaking of, Saralyn really likes apples and pears. Most of the other baby foods she’s had, sweet potatoes, peas and bananas, she has hated. I’ve mushed fresh banana and potato for her with similar results. She likes her barley teething biscuits, but only for a little bit, then the little cookies get airborne. I’ll make a foodie out of her yet! Just give me a little time.
Saraly’s eyes are still bright blue, and her hair is an orange- light brown. Man alive, is she heavy. I will have to schedule her well baby 9-month checkup soon, but she will turn 9-months during our vacation, so I will have to schedule her for that later.
Best of all, she is still a super easy, fun baby.
Now, it’s back to tooth watch…
