The holidays are just a rush. I had my doubts at first, but it seems I will be surviving this week after all. Something has been planned for every day, and some days have muti-commitments.
So far, Tuesday has been my favorite. Tony and I went to the Atlanta History Center’s Candlelight Nights. Sam came over to watch the babies and we had a nice romantic night out. Walking the center’s grounds by candlelight and seeing the historic homes all decked out for Christmas was a real treat. The plate of Low Country BBQ was nice, too.
Sam is the perfect babysitter. First of all, she loves these girls down to her bones, and I trust that she would never let them out of her sight to get in trouble or come to harm. I trust so very few with my girls. She’s also a spoiler and a good sport. I know the girls get to have a few extra treats with Sam, and get to stay up a little bit later. That’s the joy of having a baby sitter! When I was a kid, our babysitter Cathy would let us have popcorn and root-beer! A big time was had by ALL when Cathy came over! Sam’s been sprung from the same mold. She’s also a pretty good sport about the whole movie watching thing. Even on the third viewing of the same movie. That night.
Since she’s such a good sitter, I’m gonna cut her some slack about putting Saralyn’s diapers on backwards…
Yesterday was Eleanor’s Christmas Program at pre-school. She was an angel, as was the rest of the Frog Class. I cried like a baby because my baby was up on the stage. She and her friend Eve were hip-to-hip for the whole program. I love that she has a best friend already.
Today there is pre-school and playgroup and trivia and shopping. Tomorrow is a lunch date with Santa and my parents are spending the night. Saturday is a dinner party and Sunday is Church, Sunday School, Brunch, an open house at a friends, rehearsal for the Children’s Christmas Puppet Show, and more! Monday is a cookie party, and Tuesday Family starts coming into town. So, if I haven’t gotten your present yet, you’re just going to have to forgive me cause I’m out of time.
Now, I’m already behind… Gotta go!
My agenda for the next several days is almost as long but there’s no cookie party on mine! Jealous!!
