I like to get out of the house every day.  It just makes for a better life.  Today we went down the street to the Hong Kong Supermarket.  As it turns out, China Town is being built just up the way from us.  The Market is the anchor of a complete strip plaza of about [...]

Weary eyes

My bestest friend in the whole world, Trish, came to visit this weekend. We had some massage, went to my mom’s birthday, went to a party where old friends weren’t expecting us, and generally ate, drank and were merry.
And she did my face.
She plucked my eyebrows and used all kinds of creams, brushes and [...]

Happy Birthday, Mom

My mom turns 70 today. I think she has had, to this point, a most remarkable life.
She was born in Oklahoma in the 30’s.  On a farm.  (Don’t play “my upbringing was poorer than yours” with my mom.  Not that she would ever say anything about it.)

I look forward to getting [...]

Aunt Thelma

It is with great sadness that I must report the passing of a wonderful woman, Tony’s Aunt Thelma. She had been in considerably poor health in the last year, but was always joyful of spirit and a woman with an open heart. She will be greatly missed.

I got a note from my dad about Mom’s evening:
…when the doctor visited her earlier this evening he said everything went as planned. He found a little bleeding when he was in but fixed that on the spot and all seems well now. Barb is resting well and in spite of all the interruptions by [...]

We’ve got a mother!

We have gotten the call, and all seems well. Not sure however, as we’ve talked to NO DOCTOR. The nurse said that the surgery went very well, and then offered to show us the plague that was removed, and has just gone off to find it. I am not sure this is something [...]

…and then suddenly, nothing continued to happen.
Yup.  Still waiting.
