My sister Lynn, Trish, Eleanor and I headed down to the sunny beach this afternoon. The weather has been great: warm, but not HOT, and sunny. Slathered in a fresh bottle of SPF 70, which, when applied to the skin, causes a shade tree to pop out of your head, we hunkered down on the beach. Trish and I fell over the sand cliff into the waves first, leaving Lynn on the shore with a very doubting Eleanor. She took one look at those giant waves and said NO WAY. I thought the water was a little choppy myself. Trish dove in first, and I wouldn’t be undone so I went in after her. It was a little on the cool side and we got smacked ’round real good, but it was fun. The waves kind of went from dragging me around on my knees to throwing me up in the air. I’m guessing they were 4 foot waves where we were.
After that, we hauled our broken selves out of the water, and flopped under the umbrella near Elly. Lynn went in and came back after a bit sans shades. “Poseidon took my sunglasses,” she said. Then she went inside, and we stayed out with Elly, digging in the sand and looking for shells. First we buried Trish in the sand, then we buried Eleanor. We had a blast. We got sand in places we hadn’t thought of in ages. we also got wind burn.
The Gulf roughed me up and spit me out

I want you to know that it was 20 degrees here this morning. I’m not saying that you are gloating or anything, I just thought you should know that.
Also, perhaps unrelated, perhaps not, I’m not thinking good thoughts about you right now.
I’m sure you understand.
I’m not saying you need a map or anything, cause, really, YOU know where you live and that means you get, like, 8 months of Winter, two weeks of Spring and a sneeze of Summer before a brief Fall. You could go to, say Florida, and enjoy much the opposite. So, so long as you are feeling so lovey-dovey, I say ‘Poot!’
