The holidays are just a rush. I had my doubts at first, but it seems I will be surviving this week after all. Something has been planned for every day, and some days have muti-commitments.
So far, Tuesday has been my favorite. Tony and I went to the Atlanta History Center’s Candlelight Nights. Sam came over [...]

What you can’t shove back in to the box
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged Eleanor, Jack-in-the-box, song lyrics on December 15, 2008 | 1 Comment »
Saralyn got a Jack-in-the-box for her birthday. It’s a nice one, too. Jack is cute, harmless. The tune in sweet in that plunky music box way. Eleanor and Saralyn played with it for a good long time yesterday, both together and separately. What they can’t do is change the tune.
Eleanor has make Pop Goes the [...]

Eleanor peed her pants today.
Her last accident was ages ago, but she’s decided that she hates using the potty at preschool. They don’t help her there with the wiping, and she doesn’t really get herself as clean as one would hope. So, she holds it till she gets home. Today, not so much. She went [...]

My girls. Oh How I Love Them.
But…
They have some quirks that make me laugh till I cry. Saralyn waits to have a clean diaper on to poop. Like by minutes. Eleanor tests me every minute, and can NEVER remember what I tell her not to do 47 times each day. But they do make me [...]

Happy Birthday to ME!!! I’ve had tons of fun and been on all kinds of new adventures. I got some pretty nice gifts, too (but I didn’t get what I really want – real estate and my own blog. I’m a year old now. Why can’t I have my own blog??? It’s not like Mommy [...]

Tony and I really loved dating. That is why we got married, after all: we really enjoyed dating each other. For years after we wed, we continued to go on dates. Then came the children. We’ve thought of going on dates, and haven’t really found the time. In fact, just before Saralyn was born, we [...]

We’ve had a great weekend and it’s only Saturday! Friday, which we call Bambi’s every other Friday OFF woo-hoo fun day, the girls and I headed north-ish to Ellijay for apples and pumpkins. We just had the best time at Burt’s Pumpkin Patch. There is something that you need to know about me: I love [...]

I cut Saralyn’s hair this afternoon. When she has so little hair, it seems silly to cut any of it, but she was looking scraggly. Saralyn has a PRONOUNCED widow’s peak. In fact, it’s giving diction lessons to Tom Brokaw. Strangely, she can grow hair there, and over her ears, but almost nowhere else. I [...]

I think Saralyn has Roseola. She’s had the fever that comes for three days then goes. Now she has the rash. From what I’ve read, that’s the pattern and it is the #1 cause for fever in children between ages 9 and 12 months. Elly had the fever a week ago and the incubation time [...]

Eleanor went to preschool today and I survived.
She went in head held high, said “Bye Bye” and trotted down the hall, and I blubbered a bit. This was just the longest day ever without her. Part of me said, it great that she is growing and learning. The rest of me screamed, “YOU JUST [...]
