Today is my mother’s and sister’s birthday.
Many moons ago, my mother famously said, “I’m not having a baby today! I’m going out to dinner!!!”
Needless to say, the nurses ate her cake.
A lot of things happened on January 9 for my mother’s family. Several years before my mother was born, a brother of hers died in infancy on January 9th. That’s something I just noticed when I was working on the Genealogy records recently. What a day January 9 must have been for my Grandmother Mae, to have a child and grandchild be born on the date that another child had died. I wonder if she ever marked the day… Was she the kind of woman who remembered the dates of large events? Tony is a date noter, I am not. I associate with seasons or holidays but never remember the specific date that things happen.
But… as usual… I have digressed.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER MINE!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!
I’ll love you both forever! (and the card’s in the mail…)
