I know you have all been waiting for new pictures of the family, so without further ado:
We spent a few days with Auntie Diane at the beach in Wilmington. Oh. Holy. Baked Potatoes. Was it hot! We had fun and ate some great meals. I can recommend The Pilot House and Elizabeth’s Pizza. The Atlantic remained pretty calm for our morning at the beach, but the waves were still able to knock us all on our respective butts! Eleanor thought the sea was “too scary” and preferred to stay on the shore. Here is Elly and here daddy trying to full up the inner-tube with sand:
We came home on Elly’s birthday, Thursday, and got ready for her party, which was Saturday. The theme was Sesame Street, and Elmo was everywhere:
We started out with Chalk Art Time:
And we had the big bouncer out:
The party was a hoot for Elly. Her playgroup friends Eve and Sienna came to play. They colored and ate and danced and sang. Eleanor has entered a really fun time of life: she’s young enough to enjoy these experiences, and it’s all still new. She matured to the point where she’s getting control of her body and emotions. She’s a great kid to watch growing up.
What were her favorite gifts? She liked her Snow White dolly, her IKEA night light and her Princess umbrella and pajamas. She got a number of books, which we will be reading together soon. I have high hopes for the phonics books! Happy Birthday, my dear firstborn.
