I just got home from taking the girls to the doctor. Eleanor is back on some stronger antibiotics for her ear infection, and Saralyn got her checkup. Alas, The ped’s docs refused to diagnose me, but I am sure I just have a run-of-the-mill kind of cold. No biggie.
So for those of you scoring at home, Saraly’s numbers registered thusly:
- 24lbs. 12oz.
- 2′ 7.75″ tall
- this puts her around the 80th percentile for both.
- she got 1 shot in the leg (totaling 3 vaccines!)
- She has one raging diaper rash
We came home with a new butt paste for the rash, but not the flu shot they wanted to give her today. I said no. Elly and I already had ours, and I am not willing to give Saralyn one more vaccine on top of the three she got today. That’s just too many at a time. I will go back in two weeks. The piece of mind is worth the extra trip.
Saralyn’s list of words now includes: mama (which means MORE ), mommy, daddy, cracker, uh-oh, puppy, wawa, thank you, sit, sis-sis and up. She understands much more than she says. She is learning them faster, too.
Her favorite game is peek a boo and she loves having her tummy rubbed with my head.
Her turn offs are anyone else eating when she is not, milk and having a diaper change.
In the last few weeks, she has gone from a crawler to a walker. She can really move on those wee feet. Saralyn is wild about being able to carry stuff. She is keeping her mommy on her toes.
Eleanor, will have a half – birthday this week. As her birthday is in August, and there will be no school then, she gets to have a half birthday at school. Lucky girl! She has asked for strawberry cupcakes, which sound great to me, as I have a box of mix in the pantry.
