We’ve had a windy day here in Georgia. The front that has been sweeping brutally across the West finally arrived. Despite all the wind, it only sprinkled a bit today, and, heading out from the church this evening, I smelled Spring in the air. Last Wednesday, I smelled snow. Winter was on everything a week ago: in the grass, on the trees and across the sky. Not any more. I saw daffodils today. Not many, but their sunny yellow faces touched the brown yards with life. I smelled a fresh sweetness from the damp ground. The air warmed and moistened in the last few days, and my winter skin doesn’t feel quite so itchy.
It’s coming. Spring is on the way. Thank the Lord!
