Today we made our Father’s Day Project for the playgroup: Trail Mix.
The hook here is the note on the little baggies:
I’ll follow you ANYWHERE. I made a snack for us to share along the way.
The kids liked scooping and tasting the dried apples, bananas, coconut, cranberries, papaya, golden raisins, peanuts and walnuts. (Only the older kids got the peanuts – don’t freak, OK?) Then we scooped the mix into zippie bags. We decorated paper bags with crayons and stickers then put the mix in and tied it off with ribbons.
It was good cheap fun. 10 kids made the mix for about 13 bucks worth of ingredients from the farm market. Very tasty and every age got something out of it. The littlest ones snacked and enjoyed new textures and colors. The older ones liked the scooping and mixing. It was a real winner with the kids.
