In the final seconds before all was lost – a babysitter appeared.
Three cheers for Trela – sweet lady from up the street – who came to the rescue. I owe ya, sweet pea.
So, I got to go out, and funny things were said (like Bambi’s line “I was looking at a crape myrtle today, and I realized it’s Mother Nature’s half -assed apology for Georgia weather.”) and sidelong glances were made with my hubby and grownup drinks were drunk and trivia was answered. We needed every player tonight, and having a birthday girl at the table was necessary, and included brownie a la mode! So, thanks to Jeannette for spending her special day with US!
When I got back home, it was so sweet to see my girls. They can be really affectionate from time to time. Eleanor had crawled into Saralyn’s crib, and the two were sound asleep cuddled together. Sara was snoring to beat the band, and Eleanor’s limbs were twisted in every direction, and I went up there to set the big one back into her own bed, but the scene was just so sweet, I didn’t have the heart. I am sure there will be a slap down at 4AM, but that’s a problem for another time.
All is well in my world tonight. Amen.
